Girls

Your body is changing. That's wonderful! This change brings with it many questions. In the girls' consultation, we will advise you and answer all your questions with expertise, calm and openness. You can ask us questions about physical changes during puberty, sexuality and body acceptance, menstrual problems, contraceptive options and any other questions you may have. We will provide you with information in a relaxed and calm environment in which you can feel comfortable and safe. You are also welcome to bring your mum, best friend or boyfriend with you. Of course, our consultation is strictly confidential, as medical confidentiality also applies to you.

A gynaecological examination will only take place if you have symptoms. The basic rule is: you decide when you are examined!

Contraception

In our gynaecological practice, we offer you comprehensive advice and support in all matters relating to contraception. We understand that the choice of contraceptive method is a very personal decision. That's why we take the time for detailed discussions to find the most suitable contraceptive method together with you. We discuss various contraceptive options such as the pill, contraceptive patches, sticks or rings, condoms or IUDs. We take the time to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods and answer your questions. Our aim is for you to have all the information you need to make a self-determined and responsible decision about your contraception.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are among the most effective and important medical measures and are therefore an integral part of preventive healthcare.

In our gynaecological practice, we offer you all the vaccinations recommended by the STIKO (Standing Committee on Vaccination) and our specialist societies. We will advise you in detail about the individual vaccines in order to allay your fears and concerns.

The HPV vaccination (for children aged 9 and over) is very important to us. This is a vaccination against HPV (human papillomaviruses). These viruses can cause warts in humans and, in the worst case, even trigger certain types of cancer. The most common type of cancer caused by HPV is cervical cancer. This is why the vaccination is popularly known as the cervical cancer vaccination. In addition to genital warts and cell changes in the cervix, persistent HPV infections can also lead to cell changes in the vagina and vulva, penis, anus and throat. In the worst case, these cell changes can lead to cancer. Both women and men are affected. The HPV vaccination reduces the incidence of all these cancers.

As HPV is a sexually transmitted disease, the vaccination series should ideally be completed before the first sexual intercourse. However, it can also be completed later.

The vaccination series consists of two vaccinations before your 15th birthday and three vaccinations after your 15th birthday.

You can be vaccinated at any time without an appointment and without prior examinations. All we need is your yellow vaccination card. We are also happy to immunise your friend or brother.

Sexuality

We can advise you safely on all questions relating to sexuality. These could be questions about your body, masturbation, your first time, various forms of sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases or sexual assault.  You are welcome to talk to us about anything else that is on your mind. These discussions are also strictly confidential. We are very happy if you have the courage to ask us your questions, because ‘making love’ is something you can learn.
